Band Booster Meeting:
Kathy
Oberlin called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm and welcomed everyone.
PresidentÕs Report – Kathy Oberlin
- Past Events Review
- Jazz Night –
Even with the reschedule we had 350 people attend.
- Upcoming
Projects/Events
- Event of Percussion
– May 1 is date, would like posters passed out in
Community.
- New Marching
Uniforms – New uniforms for Fall, Sept. 3rd, financing arranged
through the district and Band Boosters. Will have to get 3 bids.
- Band Camp Õ08
– Aug 3 – 8 at CMU.
- End of Year
Banquet/Auction-is scheduled for May 15 in the high school cafeteria.
This year a Silent Auction approach is planned. All prize considerations
should be directed to Bill Morrow.
VP Fundraising Report – Mike DeNeff
- Music Education
Shirts-Kim Banks has taken over this fundraiser from Debbie Rashid. She
has used proceeds from previous shirt sales to order an inventory to
present to the elementary schools and upcoming concerts.
- Geezer Bash –We
deposited $700 into the band account.
- Auction – Bill
Morrow has received 30 contributions- would like to get more from the band
students.
- MusicianÕs Notes
– Kathy O.- offering ads for purchase by band families, with
proceeds going to Band Boosters.
- Spring Flower Sale
– Andrea Keefer to help co-chair this coupon-based upcoming
fundraiser. Working with Romence Gardens. The e-mail will go out this
week.
Secretary Report – Debbie Rashid
- Minutes of the Jan 8
and March 4 minutes were approved by Mr. D and seconded by Terry Popa.
Treasurer Report – Terry Popa
- CD matured in March.
He handed out and reviewed the financial report.

The floor was open to any other
nominations. None were presented. Mr. D
closed the nominations. Diane
Peneycad made a motion to accept the slate of
officers as presented and
seconded by Bill Morrow. Motion passed.
DirectorÕs Report-Mr. DeStefano
- Jazz Lab Band
Performs at MSBOA.
- Students performed at
State Solo and Ensemble at Portage North High School.
- Spring Concerts Dates
– May 1 Percussion Concert, May 2 Jazz Band, May 5 Concert Band,
Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble.
- Band Awards Night May
15.
- Band Camp Fees Due.
- Leadership Clinic and
Auditions April 28 – 29.
- Drumline – 52
students auditions.
- Visual Unit auditions
next week.
- 2008 RANGER marching
band Show will be the music of Earth Wind and
Kathy
thanked the current board for stepping up and doing a great job during the
year.
