Mr. Williams and Mr. Ivory are directing a combined FHC Orchestra and Choir Concert tonight at 7:00pm at the Fine Arts Center.
BAND BOOSTER MEETING NOTES
April 19, 2005
Presidents Report Lisa Carpentier presented the winning design for the band logo contest. The design was submitted by Melissa Scheid, a 9th grade FHC student. Melissa was given a check, certificate and flowers. The 2005-2006 Band Booster Executive Board nominees were presented and elected by a group vote:
- President: LuAnn Van Haren
- Vice President (Operations): Cindy Napolitian
- Vice President (Fundraising): Kathy Oberlin
- Treasurer: Tom Cisler
- Secretary: Sue Perry
Secretary’s Report Julie Dunakin presented the March Band Booster Meeting Minutes for LuAnn VanHaren. The minutes were approved and will be available on the FHC band website (March minutes).
VP Operations Report Julie Dunakin gave information on Marching Band Camp. The 2005-2006 Band Camp will be August 7-12 at Central Michigan University. Payment is due by May 6th. Please mail payments to Tom Cisler. A Meeting will be held for all freshmen band students and parents on May 9th at 7:00pm in the FHC Auditorium. A volunteer form for next year was included in the band camp mailing. Please return this form with the band camp payment. Volunteers are needed in many positions for next year.
VP Fundraising Report Kathy Oberlin asked for group feedback on the Citrus Sale. She is checking into the possibility of a new citrus grove for next year. An alternative to Entertainment Books was presented. The Keycard fundraiser will give the students a chance to sell a card and discount booklet for $15. The student will receive $8 profit per card sold. The Scrip program, Escrip and Meijer Reward programs were explained.
Treasurer's Report Roz Palusi presented the band financial statement. Our annual budget is projected to come out ahead due to ad sales and budgeting for this school year. An executive board budget meeting will be held in May to discuss putting extra funds into long term accounts for instruments, uniforms and semi truck maintenance.
Director's Report No band directors were present at the meeting due to schedule conflicts. Upcoming concerts: May 10- Jazz/Percussion at 7:00pm at FAC and May 12- Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble at 7:00pm at FAC. The FHC band awards banquet will be held on May 19 in the FHC Cafeteria. A letter will be mailed with details about that night.
New Business Lisa Carpentier was presented with a gift basket to thank her for two years of service as Band Booster President.
