Citrus Sale:
Greater incentives and dollars earned for
kids to fund trip to Florida next year. Group may consider possible PowerPoint
presentation for the public, need to investigate community room to hold audience
of 200+.
BAND BOOSTER MEETING
April 22, 2003
Strategic Planning Report:
Vince Palusci presented the groups’ draft
report regarding strategic long-term planning. Contained were a mission and
purpose statement, and action plans/ ideas to support short and long-term goals
of the band program. Tom Kivell presented the financial portion of the report
which suggested raising the booster organization to new level while planning for
long-term expenditures such as uniform replacement and instrument purchases.
John and Glen need to provide the boosters a long-term plan regarding instrument
purchases and uniform replacement (ie: marching and concert).
VP Fundraising:
Bandtasia looking for steering committee
members, contact Ellen Gravalle or Agata VanHaren. Volunteers needed from all
classes.
Scrip * keep suggesting participation to
all classes
D&W Nights * April 28 to April 30th,
anytime of day. Need coupon.
President’s Report:
Spring concerts May 6 & 13th,
we will provide cookies after teach. Sue and Judy to phone cookie bakers.
Award’s night has been moved to May 22nd,
6:30pm at St. Robert’s Church. Flier will be sent home with kids indicating
food assignments. Set up is at 4 pm.

Vice-President’s Report:
Spring concerts will have volunteer sign
up sheets for next year’s events.
Secretary’s Report: Please see
minutes from last meeting. Minutes approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Assets: $
35,000. Instrument payment due July 1, 2003.
Director’s Report:
Come to the May 13th concerts.
The Symphonic Band will be presenting an unusual but cool 4th
movement that is very untraditional. This group of kids responded well to this
unusual music.
Special note of congratulations to the
State Solo & Ensemble Proficiency III Award winners who also qualified for
Michigan All-State Band and Orchestra: Mark Wolfe, James Salier and Amy Brown.
Glenn acknowledged another thank you for
Christine Covell for developing and maintaining our web site;

Lastly, summer leadership seminar begins
July 17th, Band rehearsal July 24th, and Band camp is
July 28- Aug. 2.
Old Business: Scrip, please keep
it coming.
New Business:
Monday, May 12th is the
Freshman Band Camp meeting at 7 pm. It was suggested to phone new parents to
increase volunteer participation.
