Scrip is a fundraising program involved around purchasing gift certificates to various stores, restaurants, and other services that you already use. It is available for ALL FHC music students. You order Scrip for the purchases that you would ordinarily make. Scrip comes either as a gift certificate or a gift card. You pay only for what you order – there is no extra charge for Scrip. The retailers offering Scrip rebate a percentage of the purchase price back to you. This amount is anywhere from 2% to 25% of the purchase price! The Band Boosters keeps just 1/2% (that’s .005) of the order amount to cover the expense of running the Scrip program. This is deducted from the rebate amount earned and typically amounts to just a few cents. The remaining percentage goes directly into your child’s Band Booster, Orchestra, or Choir account. This is NOT a Band Booster fundraiser – ALL the money you earn after the 1/2% deduction goes directly for your student!
Scrip earnings can be used for required uniform dry-cleaning fees, school-affiliated music department travel (Florida trip, Band camp, etc.), school-sponsored events such as Solo and Ensemble entry fees and other director-approved music-related activities.
Approximately twice monthly access ShopWithScrip.com via computer to place your order online in the comfort of your home or office, 24/7. The Scrip order that you enter and the payment are due on a Monday by 6 p.m. Order pick-up is the following Monday. D&W, Burger King, JCPenney, Hollywood Video, Old Navy, Sheldon Cleaners, Sunset Waste, Speedway, and Domino’s Pizza are just a few of our parents’ favorites. If you spend money at these or any of the hundreds of participating businesses, please think about enrolling in this program. Scrip is great to give as a gift for birthdays, holidays, graduation, or just to send to older kids at college!
